This is my first online model. I wanted to make a 7 string guitar by 3D printing. Guitar is inspired by Strandberg.
So the neck and all the electrics are from Harley Benton R-457MN fanfret guitar. It’s on Thomann for 190€, so it is pretty cheap for a 7 string. It also sounds very good for its price.
Body is made from 6 pieces. Pieces are held together with 8mm wooden pegs and superglue. There is also holes for steel/carbon rods inside to add some stiffness. I have 2x 6mm steel rods inside and it has been holding its tune for over 3 months now with heavy strings. So its holding up well. At the end plate there is cavity for wiring if you want to ground those rods also.
Pick guard has hole marks on the backside. I printed it with carbon fiber bed, i wanted pickguard to look uniform, so i intentionally left holes closed. You can drill them through from the backside. I used M2.5×10 screws for the pickquard. Maximum length for screws is 12mm.
So apart from the guitar itself, for this project you need:
-12pcs M2.5×10 screws (Optional, pick guard and backplate can also be glued)
-8mm wooden pegs (~20pcs) (Or you can print them. I will add separate profile for pegs also.)
-2pcs 6mm steel/carbon rods inside main body (Optional, haven’t tried without them, but could be doable)
-Copper tape for additional shielding to prevent interference, also optional because stock guitar doesn’t have these. I just wanted to make it better.
-Some soldering skills to make you own wiring if you’re willing to. If i remember correctly, mic wires could be bit too short to use as it is.
